Studio

It all started when…

I was old enough to pick up a pencil and start drawing. I drew and painted all kinds of things and at the age of 8, friends and school teachers started asking to buy my work. It did not take me long to figure out that it was a good deal if I could get paid for my art. That way I had spare money and could keep exploring new ways of making my my art. The summer before I entered university I had my first solo gallery exhibition and it sold out.

With a few starts and stops, I have been busy making art for Collectors and exhibiting work around the world ever since.

My current practice includes making modern landscape oil paintings and abstract expressionist works, along with experimental techniques in a variety of mediums. I use brushes, knives, sticks and sometimes even a box of rocks to apply paint or get the textures I want in my work.

Paint is often washed on, brushed, dripped, splashed or scrapped. As the layering of the painting progresses, I pay attention and the piece tells me when it’s finished.

Though I have worked and exhibited in several parts of the United States and in Chile, my studio is currently in Paso Robles, California. It has been said that Paso Robles wine country is the Tuscany of America. The tranquility and amazing natural beauty of the area provides me with ongoing painting inspiration.
